Interpretationsanleitung

Mozart´s third Concerto for horn, which we named the No.4. Why ? The No.1 D-major is a fragment only, never finished by Mozart himself.

Mozarts drittes Hornkonzert, das wir als no.4 bezeichnen. Warum ? No.1 in D-Dur ist ja nur ein Fragment, das Mozart nie fertiggestellt hat.

3rd movement:

RONDO Allegro vivace p.16

Do not exaggerate the long notes in MM.116 & 120, as they will speak for themselves. The last long note entrance in M.124 could be mezzofortepiano instead of piano decrescendo, as the effect is much better & gets the strings more in front for the one measure. The following sequence is like the beginning of the movement. Also the entrance in M. 140 has been explained before, the modulation coming in M.145, where everything should sound very soft, something mysterious. The step by step crescendo could start earlier than written in the different editions, in M. 147. The gb² (also be read as f#²) in M.148 is better on T2. Care for the rhythm in M.152-153 & use T1 for the up slurred f2 naturally.

Übertreibe nicht die langen Töne in T.116/120, da sie auch schon von alleine wirken. Der letzte Einsatz mit einem langen Ton in T.124 könnte im mfp stehen statt im piano mit decrescendo, da die Streicher für diesen einen Takt mehr in den Vordergrund kommen sollten. Der Einsatz in T.140 wurde schon früher erklärt. Die Modulation kommt dann in T.145, wo alles sehr weich und etwas geheimnisvoll klingen sollte. Das Schritt-für-Schritt crescendo könnte früher als in den meisten Ausgaben beginnen (T.147). Das ges² (auch als fis² zu lesen) in T.148 ist zweifellos mit T2 besser. Beachte den Rhythmus in T.152/153 und verwende natürlich T1 für die Aufwärtsbindung in T.153.
